About Parador Malaga Golf Resort
Few golf courses in Spain carry the weight of history that belongs to the Málaga Golf Course at Parador Málaga Golf. Conceived in 1925 by the visionary architect Tom Simpson — whose celebrated portfolio includes Turnberry and Muirfield, both storied venues of the British Open — the course was inaugurated in 1928 in the presence of the Spanish Royal Family. It has since hosted some of the most distinguished events on the European circuit calendar, including the Turespaña Masters, won by Vijay Singh, the Turespaña Open de Andalucía, claimed by Miguel Ángel Jiménez, and the prestigious La Copa Iberia amateur championship. Today, the resort offers 27 holes in total: 18 of historic championship pedigree and a further 9 laid out in the tradition of a classic links. Set amid paradisiacal surroundings of lush flora and abundant fauna, with the Málaga coastline shimmering in the distance, this is Andalusian golf at its most storied and atmospheric.
