Belas Clube de Campo

Belas Club de Campo, owned by Planbelas S.A., is a 462 hectare (1,142 acre) residential complex close to the villages of Belas and Quelez, an area where, in days gone by, members of the nobility with ties to the Portuguese Royal Family established a summer retreat not far from the Royal Palace in Queluz. Located about a ten-minute drive away from Portugal's cosmopolitan capital, Lisbon and a similar distance from Sintra - an historical town awarded world heritage status - Belas Clube de Campo is closely linked to a modern motorway network allowing easy access to Lisbon International Airport, to the north of the country as well as to the south over the Tagus River bridges.

William "Rocky" Roquemore realised one of his prime designs at this championship standard par 72 golf course which measures 6,109 metres. The impeccably maintained greens tees and fairways were seeded with Penneagle and Pennlinks grass, and are masterfully set into valleys, protected from the full force of the winds.

The course meanders in amongst the hillsides, affording splendid views of the Sintra hills and is divided into well defined parts: one with low density residential surroundings and the other through an untouched natural environment.

The signature holes, highlighted for both their beauty and difficulty, are the second, called "Augusta" in honour of the 13th at that famous course in Georgia, and the finishing hole, aptly named "The Grand Hole".

The Clubhouse is both modern and elegant, and the "Clube de Campo" restaurant is a main attraction and essential meeting place, where regional delicacies are tastefully combined with the most refined international cuisine.
