Royal New Kent Golf Club

A trip to Royal New Kent Golf Club puts the golfer in the middle of a true Irish experience.  Designed by the renowned Mike Strantz in the mid-90's, the club opened as one of the best in the region and since it's reopening in 2019, has been ranked in the top 10 in the state of Virginia.  Mike Strantz visited both Royal County Down and Ballybunion in Ireland to research what he wanted to bring to the Mid-Atlantic and throughout your round, you can see notes of Golf Ireland in Virginia.

The club has been ranked as one of the more difficult layouts in the country and that is why so many visit to challenge the design.  Strantz's vision of making holes look more intimidating and challenging than they actually are gives the golfer a challenge standing on the tee box.  The GPS units, yardage books, and helpful starters get every golfer pointed in the right direction and once you understand Strantz, you understand how he hopes you play his golf courses.

18 holes of a bermuda/zoysia hybrid with bermudagrass greens offers fun golf all year long.  Dramatic bunkers with high faces and serious elevation changes will entertain the golfer while challenging every skill level.  The club has an all-grass driving range, putting and chipping greens, and a fun 19th hole experience on the back patio overlooking 18 green.
