About The Belfry – Brabazon Course
The Brabazon Course at The Belfry is one of the most famous golf courses in Europe, having hosted the Ryder Cup four times — in 1985, 1989, 1993, and 2002. Designed by Peter Alliss and Dave Thomas and opened in 1977, the course is celebrated for its dramatic finishing stretch, particularly the iconic 10th and 18th holes played over the River Belfry. The 1985 Ryder Cup, in which Europe ended a 28-year American winning streak, is one of the most significant moments in golf history and took place on this course.
