About Circolo Golf Venezia
Among the oldest golf clubs in Italy, Circolo Golf Venezia traces its origins to 1928, when 25 founding members drawn from Venice's noble families gathered to establish a club with a week of celebration. Expanded to 18 holes in 1951, the par-72 course commands one of the most extraordinary sites in European golf: a spectacular strip of land between the Adriatic Sea and the Lagoon of Venice, where the bora and sirocco winds sweep across the fairways with a frequency and force that elevate every round into a genuine test of shot-making and course management. The well-bunkered greens demand precision; the setting rewards patience. Rated by Il Mondo del Golf as one of the ten finest courses in Italy, the club has hosted numerous editions of the PGA European Tour Italian Open, the PGA European Tour Seniors Open, the Vagliano Trophy, and a succession of Italian Amateur Championships. The 9th hole — its blind tee shot played through an ancient fort — remains one of the most iconic and talked-about in all of Italian golf.
