One of Ireland’s most historic and complete links destination, featuring three world-class Links Courses, St Patricks, Old Tom Morros and Sandy Hills. The resort itself was founded in 1893 making it one of the oldest golf resorts in the world. The Old Tom Morris course was designed by Tom Morris and later modified by Harry Vardon, James Braid & Harry Colt. It is one of the most traditional Links layouts, running through a natural valley between dunes and Sheephaven Bay. The layout focuses on shot-making, running approaches and natural contours rather than length. The Sandy Hills course was designed by Pat Ruddy and is built through towering dunes overlooking the Old Course, elevated tees and green, narrow with more demanding driving lines and offering a more modern championship test. It is generally considered more physically demanding and dramatic than Old Tom Morris. The St Patricks course was designed by Tom Doak and is built on a vast dune system south of the resort, now ranked among the top courses in the world. St Patricks is a modern masterpiece links featuring huge natural dunes and blowouts, wide fairways with strategic options, expansive greens and panoramic Atlantic views. It blends traditional Links principles with modern architecture, and is often regarded as the stand-out course at the Resort today
