About Lahinch Golf Club – Old Course
One of Ireland’s most famous golf destinations, sitting on the Atlantic coast beside the town of Lahinch. It offers two main courses, The Old Course and The Castle Course. The Old Course is a classic championship traditional Links course, shaped by natural Dunes, firm turf and the Atlantic wind. It is often called the “St Andrews of Ireland” because of its history, character and pure links experience. It is a traditional out and back links with towering dunes framing many holes. Fast running fairways, natural undulating greens and extremely strong coastal winds influence daily strategy. Famous holes include the “Klondyke” par 5 blind second shot and “Dell” par 3 blind green. This “pure” links experience demands creativity more than power. The Castle Course sits alongside the famous Old Course and shares the same Atlantic dune system but it is designed to be more playable and forgiving with wider landing areas, less blind shots and fewer extreme dune carries, less severe in routing and green complexity. It is a modern complement to the Old course and well worth playing
