The Crete Golf Club

The Crete Golf Club is home to the first 18-hole golf course on the island of Crete — a challenging and visually arresting destination that commands attention throughout the year. Designed by Bob Hunt of the PGA Design Consultancy of Great Britain, the layout is sculpted in a desert style that blends seamlessly into the existing Cretan landscape, each hole individually carved to test the full range of a golfer's repertoire against a backdrop of dramatic views that shift and evolve with every step. Environmental sensitivity is central to the design, with modern water treatment and large areas of untouched natural terrain woven throughout the course. The mountainous landscape and consistent coastal breezes ensure the layout ranks among the most demanding in Greece, yet the mild Mediterranean climate keeps it open for play in all seasons. A boutique hotel of 25 suites opened on the property in December 2017, complemented by a golf academy with a 300-metre driving range and two putting greens — a complete and refined destination in one of Greece's most evocative island settings.
